New jewelry keeps rolling in

With the massive amount of new jewelry we've purchased recently, a week like this was to be expected. New work from Veto and Ananda Khalsa arrived on Friday just in time to go out for that night's First Friday opening (more on that later). Saturday brought new work from Vinosus. One of two recent orders from Todd Reed arrived on Tuesday and then new work from Tivi came today! It has been nothing but jewelry for Rori - from taking photos of all the work, pricing information, and then rearranging the cases to fit everything - getting everything set up can be a bit of process. Check out some of the highlights below, but also take a peek at the portfolio pages to see all of their new work!

Our first purchase from Veto included this ring, but it was promptly snatched up by Ranjeet's lovely wife, Neha. With our second order, we ordered another one, as well as some of their other designs in stainless steel and pearls for women. Most of our current Veto rings are aimed at men, but with this order we decided to branch out to their women's line as well. The ring pictured at left is as striking in person as it is in the picture.

Since I was not at the Philly show in February, the first time I saw Ananda's work in person was on Friday when it arrived at the gallery. Let me tell you that is unbelievably beautiful. Each piece has its own unique, handpainted image. Right now, my personal favorite is the Sparrow Mandala Necklace, but I'm also seriously eyeing up the Autumn Maple Necklace pictured at left. Ananda's paintings are delicate images that serve as the perfect compliment to her delicate, handmade jewelry.

Vinosus' jewelry never dissappoints and this order was no different. The great thing about all of Vinosus' jewelry is it's lightweight, completely wearable, and super affordable. I think my favorite new piece are the Origami Earrings. I never usually find myself drawn towards the mixed metal look - I tend to prefer either all silver or all gold, not both - but these earrings are so delicate and move nicely. The combination of gold and silver is a nice touch to the innovative design of these earrings. Check out the Kite earrings at right for Vinosus' take on something in all silver.

Everytime something arrives from Boulder from Todd Reed I get a little excited. There's something about having thousands of dollars worth of diamonds on your hand that would get any girl excited. I will admit to sporting this ring for a good portion of my time at the gallery yesterday before it went into the case with the rest of them. I'm sure if you stop by on a Saturday you'll find me admiring it and taking out for a while, just to test it out ;). In all seriousness, the ring is absolutely gorgeous. With almost 6 total carats worth of rose-cut and raw diamond cubes, this ring would make anyone feel like a million bucks. Todd has said that this is one of their most popular styles and it's easy to see why. It is different from every angle, making it one of their most versatile designs. Many of the rings from this order can be combined with other styles to create the perfect stacking combination. Check out the example above and Todd's portfolio page to see more options we've created, plus all the new styles.

The guys from Tivi are reverting back to their original design concept: furniture, design, and interiors. They're slowly phasing out their jewelry, but before that happens we wanted to snatch a bunch of it up. Their jewelry is made from sustainable wood, like ebony and walnut, and some designs incorporate stainless steel. Their necklaces and earrings are great for women, but they also have some great cufflinks and rings for men (like the one at right). Make sure to get some before it's all gone!

With still more jewelry on the way from Kathy Bransfield, Martha Sullivan, the Barber's Daughter, Angela Duffin, Belle Brooke, and the engagement style rings from Todd Reed, look for another post like this sometime soon!

First Friday Reminder

Just a quick reminder that this Friday (March 6th) is First Friday and the opening our latest show, Contrasts, featuring the work of two local photographers, Olaf Starorypinski and Scott Nichol. It's been almost a year and a half since our last photography show, so everyone at the gallery is very excited about it. Rori and I were busy hanging the main gallery on Friday and Saturday, with the show to go up sometime on Thursday, if things go according to plan. With 2 months of sales at the gallery, it will be a big change to see the gallery in its normal state!

Make sure you stop by on Friday night from 7-10pm. Both artists will be on hand to talk with visitors, so don't be shy. So stop by, say hello, and check out all the new additions to Monsoon's collections!

Check out another sneak peek of Olaf (left) and Scott's (right) work below.
